That’s certainly how it feels every morning when we gather around the Bølge dining table in our showroom on M. P. Bruuns Gade, right in the heart of Aarhus. The journey to bring the sketches that evolve into designs for your home has not been a straightforward one.

A HOUSE CONSTRUCTION BECAME A PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE
For two years, Stine undertook a complete renovation of a house in Aarhus, starting from the very foundation. She named it Pilehus, marking the beginning of her journey. Pilehus tells the story of how four walls transformed into an oasis of elegance, tranquility, and trustworthy materials—accomplished through a remarkable amount of perseverance and hard work.
Her narrative begins with the construction, as WABI SABI became an integral part of the project.
WABI SABI: BEAUTY IN IMPERFECTION
Wabi-sabi is a Japanese concept that embodies the beauty of imperfection. The ambitions for Pilehus were lofty, requiring a creative approach to materials and interior solutions. She aimed to work with the finest materials while ensuring economic feasibility, all while weaving a unique, cohesive narrative throughout the home.
It almost seemed impossible.
However, one afternoon in March, WABI SABI was born from an unexpected twist. Stine had been saving for the exquisite sandblasted Grigio Bottarga marble intended to welcome guests in the entryway. Unfortunately, a large tile broke. Rather than despair, she saw an opportunity: overnight, the broken tile was transformed into hooks.
WABI SABI was born.

All items are designed by Stine Rosgaard, the Founder of WABI SABI, who meticulously considers the materials, their origins, and the quality they provide throughout the entire process. To ensure optimal production and product quality, all items are manufactured in Europe — as close to home as possible.
We believe it’s essential that the products you choose can accompany you for many years to come. Therefore, we maintain a steadfast commitment to quality, implementing our own rigorous quality checks at the factory.
