Kumo is our new series of boxes, designed to meet the need for a storage element that taps into WABI SABI’s aesthetic universe. The desire to keep toys out of sight yet still within reach sparked Stine’s design process for our boxes, which come in four different sizes.

The materiality of the boxes is simple and light, yet they have a visual expression that is enduring and distinctive, stemming from the high lid and raw construction. They are made from natural brown cardboard and assembled with small glossy rivets. This is both practical and adds an honest, handcrafted feel.

The lid is designed as the dominant element, inspired by the characteristic roofs of Japanese houses. The result is a heavier, more calming expression that fits seamlessly into our universe of stone, natural tones, and muted aesthetics.

A functional and aesthetic object, where the simplicity of the material and the carefully considered proportions together create a quiet elegance. Our boxes are locally produced south of Aarhus in a micro-workshop, where every detail is handmade.
